Program: Thermal insulation

The most popular facades in Croatia are Demit facade systems.

DEMIT facade system

Demit facade is popular for several reasons: it reduces construction costs because it works on a thinner outer wall (21 or 25 cm), is installed very quickly and is relatively cheap because the facade does not need to be plastered beforehand. If it is performed with quality, the shelf life is about 30 years.
The basis of the demit facade is styrofoam of different thicknesses (from 5 cm to 8 cm). It is glued to the substrate with suitable styrofoam adhesives. The method of applying the adhesive to the styrofoam board is extremely important.

The glue is applied to the edges of the plates in order to achieve the effect of an insulated air chamber. If the glue is not applied well, there are problems with condensation and weakened insulation, and the service life of the facade is reduced. Quality glue with elastic properties is a guarantee that no cracks will appear on the facade.

After the panels are placed on the facade, they are additionally fixed to each other with special plastic dowels – about six dowels per square. By placing the styrofoam board, the leveling is done at the same time and any unevenness left by the mason is corrected, so that in the end the surface of the wall is flat.

Protective mesh is placed on such clad walls to reinforce and strengthen the surface of the facade.

The surface is finally smoothed with a base coat.

In the end, a final layer is made, which can be in different colors and textures.
